No. 5 Minot (3-1) at No. 1 Fargo Davies (3-1): Every team ranked in the Class AA poll has a record of 3-1, which means a Minot win at Davies on Friday could potentially vault them to top of the rankings. Meanwhile, two other 11AA ranked-team games have very winnable games as No. 2 West Fargo Sheyenne visits 11A Grand Forks Red River (3-1) and No. 4 Fargo Shanley hosts winless Bismarck Century. It was setting up so neatly for yet another North Dakota State victory over a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.
While many North Dakotans were either asleep or glued to their favorite bar’s TVs, the Bison were trying to put the finishing touches on another one of those games where they physically impose their will and run over their opponent in the game’s final minutes.
Only this time, NDSU hit a wall.

Defense ruled the first half of Dickinson High’s homecoming football game Friday night against Valley City.
Unfortunately for the Midgets, Valley City’s Zach Sykora and Ethan Miller controlled the second half.
The Hi-Liners’ junior running back duo combined for 223 rushing yards and four touchdown runs as they wore down the Midgets en route to a 27-6 victory at the Biesiot Activities Center.
